Hazel Murray 10 Things to Know about cybersecurity tv

Exciting news last night saw The Cyber Safety team featured in an episode of the award-winning RTÉ television series "10 Things to Know About..." . This series highlights the groundbreaking Irish science shaping modern life, and we are proud to see our team members Hazel Murray, Ashley Sheil, Michelle O'Keeffe, Jacob Camilleri, Moya Cronin and Melanie Gruben contributing to such an important cause.

This episode aired on Monday, 11th November and focused on cyber safety, a topic close to our own mission. With the rapid shift from analogue to digital services, many individuals—particularly older adults and vulnerable groups—are at risk of being left behind in today’s digital world. This episode will shine a light on the multidisciplinary research team from MTU in Cork, which includes key members of the Cyber Skills team, as they work on a national project funded by Science Foundation Ireland to address these challenges.

Our role in the Cyber Safety project is focused on empowering individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to safely navigate the digital landscape. We’re not here to force technology on anyone, but rather to provide the tools and support that make digital engagement safe and accessible for all. Whether through in-person sessions, phone support, or online resources, our goal is to ensure that every Irish citizen has a trusted source for cyber safety guidance.

Watch back to see how our team is contributing to this national effort and learn more about the work being done to ensure a safer digital future for everyone.
