Cyber Skills is excited to announce that we are moving from X to BlueSky. This aligns with our strategy to prioritise security, privacy, and user control—areas where we feel BlueSky excels over X.
BlueSky is committed to limiting data collection. Unlike X, which uses data for targeted ads, BlueSky promises not to use your data for ads, sharing, or AI training. This ensures our data stays private and reduces the risk of exploitation.
As a decentralised platform, BlueSky offers users and businesses more control over their data. Unlike X’s centralised system, BlueSky allows users to customise their feeds and avoid manipulative algorithms. This decentralisation promotes transparency, ownership, and trust.
BlueSky also lowers the risk of large-scale data breaches. Its AT protocol helps keep user data secure, offering a safer alternative to X, where data misuse is more likely.
For businesses, BlueSky enables authentic engagement with audiences. Users can self-host their networks and customise security and moderation policies. With full control over data-sharing, businesses can minimise data exposure risks.
Though BlueSky’s community is smaller than X’s, its growth is rapid, and user feedback is positive. Many X users, frustrated by a chaotic and polarised environment, are making the switch to BlueSky.
BlueSky does face challenges, such as combating bots and potential echo chambers. However, its user-driven approach offers potential for customisation and meaningful engagement.
At Cyber Skills, we’re excited to be part of BlueSky. We believe the platform will help us connect with the cybersecurity community, free from X’s limitations.
