The Cyber Skills Team at the Nimbus Research Centre  had the honor of hosting Tánaiste Micheál Martin and First Minister of Wales, Eluned Morgan, This was the First Minister's first overseas visit, marking a milestone in Ireland and Wales relations.

The event provided an excellent platform to showcase cutting-edge research and innovation in the field of cybersecurity, while also highlighting the successful Ireland-Wales research collaborations. The Cyber Skills Team seized the opportunity to present their achievements, particularly focusing on how their diverse initiatives have bolstered Ireland’s cybersecurity ecosystem.

One of the day's key moments was a live demonstration in the centre's new cybersecurity lab, where a simulated cyber-attack on a robotic arm was presented. This captivating demonstration offered the Tánaiste and the First Minister a hands-on experience of the real-world challenges in cybersecurity.

This visit signifies the start of a promising partnership aimed at strengthening collaborations between Ireland and Wales in cybersecurity research and innovation. Both countries are now positioned to deepen their cooperation in addressing emerging cybersecurity challenges and advancing the field together.
