10 June 2024 - 14 June 2024 | 11:00 - 15:00 | OnlineIt’s that time of the year again when a many 4th and 5th year students are eagerly signing up to our Cyber Security Academy. The Academy is an initiative of Cyber Skills and Cyber Ireland. It is delivered by MTU lecturers from the Cyber Skills project, George D. O'Mahony and Dr. Hazel Murray. The Cyber Security Academy 2024 will introduce you to some of the key concepts in Cyber Security that will build your skills and help you to make informed career choices for your future. The Academy is a free, online course for 4th and 5th year students. This course is designed for 16- to 18-year-olds and it is suitable for beginner and advanced students.
This free, online course runs from 11:00am to 3:00pm daily from the 10th to the 13th of June 2024, with an optional on campus session on Friday 14th of June 2024.
The students will have the opportunity to learn about cryptography, ethical hacking and compete in the capture the flag competition. Upon completion of this course the student will be awarded a digital badge by MTU.
