CERTIFICATE IN SYSTEMS ARCHITECTURE SECURITY

Starting this September, the Certificate in Systems Architecture Security is aimed at equipping experienced Systems Architects with the cybersecurity skills needed to design secure IT systems. It offers in-depth knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and protocols, enabling learners to assess and apply the appropriate cryptographic methods. This course is fully online and part-time, which means that it gives the busy professional a perfect opportunity to upskill in the world of cybersecurity. Designed in partnership with industry experts, this course will position students at the cutting edge of the cybersecurity sector.

Developed by Ireland's leading experts in cyber security education,  Munster Technological University (MTU),the University of Limerick (UL) and Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin), Cyber Skills offers the only upskilling programmes in Ireland that are accredited and use the state of the art CYRIN Cyber Range - a next-generation cyber range where you train with real tools, real attacks, and real scenarios to hone your skills in a virtual environment. You will learn from experienced instructors and have the opportunity to engage with other working professionals from different industries.

By enrolling in this course, you will have the opportunity to learn from Dr. Hazel Murray, who has a BSc in Maths Education and a PhD on Authentication Security from Maynooth University. Hazel leads two research groups,  Cyber-Safety and Digital resilience for SMEs. Cyber Safety provides vulnerable people in society with guidance on how to protect themselves online through the development of tailored and accessible security guidance. While Digital resilience for SMEs aims to improve the cyber resilience of Irish SMEs to arm them with the knowledge and resources to protect their business.

Student testimonial - “The knowledge and experience I gained while completing the cyber skills pathway will provide a positive impact on my career. It has provided me with the core fundamentals of secure system architecture and given me an understanding of how to ensure that security is at the core of any solutions I am involved in designing. It has also enabled me to assist team members ensuring their designs adhere to industry security standards” - David O'Reilly.

The Certificate in Systems Architecture Security is currently subsidized by the Micro-Credential Course Learner Subsidy under the HCI Pillar 3, which provides an 80% subsidy rate for courses targeting skills in critical areas such as cybersecurity. Apply now if you are interested in this pathway!
