Cork's FinTech Frontier: Insights from Irish Funds' Speaker Series.

The Irish Funds' highly anticipated FinTech Speaker Series, held in collaboration with the Funds Academy, will illuminate Cork's flourishing FinTech landscape at Munster Technological University, Bishopstown Campus, Cork, Ireland.

The event will showcase the close collaboration between academia and industry, particularly highlighting the involvement of companies within the investment fund administration sector. These companies are important as they create educational programs related to finance and technology.

Renowned industry experts will speak at the event from Valid8Me, Citco, Clearstream, Sure Valley Ventures, Grant Thornton and Cyber Skills (MTU) to discuss the latest FinTech innovations shaping Cork's financial ecosystem. Key topics included emerging technologies, regulatory developments, and the evolving skill sets essential for success in this dynamic industry.

Our own, George O’Mahony from Cyber Skills MTU, will be showcasing the Cyber Range. The only one of its kind Ireland, the Cyber Range is a unique national infrastructure compromising state-of-the-art cloud and mobile units. It offers a secure interactive ‘sandbox’ environment that safely runs live cyber-attack scenarios and crisis management exercises that replicate real-world situations.

Gillian O’Carroll also from Cyber Skills MTU, will discuss the current status of the FinTech industry with DORA and how this is going to impact the sector, along with strategies for addressing key skill shortages.
