  • Deirdre Leahy lectures in the Law of Cybercrime and Digital Forensics, with research interests in regulation of online gambling, monetised games, and online digital transactions.

    Currently completing a PhD on Regulation of Online Gambling in the EU at University College Cork under an Irish Research Council Government of Ireland (GOI) Postgraduate Scholarship, she has extensive experience and specialisation in commercial law and practice. She also co-teaches the Law of Cybercrime at postgraduate level in the School of Law at UCC.

    Deirdre is an Irish-qualified solicitor and in addition to her primary degrees, holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and E-law from UCC.

    Deirdre researches and has published on disruptive online formats, regulation of online gambling, gambling/gaming convergence, and transactional protection in the online environment. She is a contributor to the proposals for reform of gambling law in Ireland.
