Programme Descriptor

This course examines the background and principal features of the laws applicable to cybercrime. It will equip students with an understanding of the key challenges of this emerging area of law.

The objectives of the course are to provide the student with the necessary skillset to assess legal frameworks and tools used to combat cybercrime, to understand the challenges of cybercrime investigation, the forensic data collection process, and the rules of electronic evidence which determine the admissibility of electronically stored information.

This course will appeal not only to those wishing to develop an understanding and knowledge of the current framework of laws on cybercrime and digital evidence procedures, but will also be useful for industry and human resources management, especially for those with responsibility for regulatory compliance, oversight of legal processes, and liaison with professional advisers.
